Cherie Dalton is a highly skilled and experienced Psychologist who is passionate about assisting women through the psychological challenges of perimenopause and menopause.
Cherie is Co-founder of the practice, Her Psychology, which is exclusively focussed on providing psychological treatment for women experiencing mental health challenges in context with midlife hormonal transitions. Cherie combines a range of therapeutic modalities with the latest psychological research to support a women’s unique journey, acknowledging the profound intersection of body, mind, and identity for midlife women.
Cherie tailors her therapeutic approach to each woman’s needs providing a compassionate and validating approach utilising evidence-based treatment modalities such as cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness-based approaches, psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and clinical hypnosis. Along with her clinical psychology training, Cherie has completed training in clinical hypnosis which she incorporates into her treatment when appropriate. Peer-reviewed research has demonstrated that clinical hypnosis and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) can be helpful in managing vasomotor perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms.
